Happy Independence Week of Iran Bar Association
The Iranian Bar Association, as one of the oldest civil society organizations in Iran, has played an important position in the social legal space of the country from the beginning until today. Therefore, March 25 has been named as the day of commemoration of the lawyer, and on the occasion of the independence of the Bar Association, in 1331, the bill on the independence of the Bar was approved with the insistence of Dr. Mossadegh.
To understand the reason for naming this day, it should be noted that in August 1331, during the term of Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh, “the bill related to granting authority to the person of Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh for six months” was approved by the National Assembly and The Senate has arrived. This single article stipulates that these bills are binding until their duties are determined in both houses.
“Reform of Administrative Organizations and Civil, Judicial, and Military Employment Laws” and “Reform of Judicial Laws” were among the nine articles in the government’s program. With the authority given to Dr. Mossadegh by the parliament, the plan of the Bar Association for Independence was set after changes were made. The plan was drafted by a commission consisting of four members of the board of the Bar Association. Finally, Prime Minister Mossadegh himself added a few articles to it and approved the bill as a bill with 23 articles.
